Job Description | Vote Mama Engagement Coordinator


Vote Mama is hiring an Engagement Coordinator to lead our organizing work in our c4 Action Fund and support the work of our Foundation and PAC. 


About us:

The Vote Mama Action Fund is a 501(c)4 organization working in partnership with the 501(c)3 Vote Mama Foundation to achieve gender equity by breaking down barriers for working mothers to run for elected office, winning universal childcare for all Americans, and expanding the use of campaign funds for childcare for all candidates running for office.  The Vote Mama PAC supports progressive moms with young children running for office up and down the ballot and across the country. The Engagement Coordinator is joining Vote Mama at an exciting inflection point as our organization continues to grow.


About this opportunity:

The Engagement Coordinator will be responsible for engaging with Vote Mama’s different stakeholders, including but not limited to candidates and alumni, training program participants, donors, elected officials, board members,  and volunteers.  The Engagement Coordinator will be tasked with engaging these audiences in Vote Mama’s work in a myriad of ways, including digitally.

The Engagement Coordinator will report directly to the Political Director. 


About you

  • Previous political organizing experience preferred, with at least one cycle of experience working with campaigns and/or in progressive politics

  • Commitment to electing more progressive mothers of school-aged children up and down the ballot 

  • Familiarity with political data, latest technologies, and best practices in the field 

  • Digital and marketing skills, understanding of best practices for Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook

  • Ability to organizing diverse coalitions

  • Meticulous attention to detail 

  • Ability to set and complete ambitious goals 

  • Ability to adapt to quickly changing deadlines and priorities 

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

The Portfolio



  • Recruit, train, and support a large coalition of volunteers to:

    • Support PAC endorsed candidates

    • Lobby for family friendly legislation

  • Organize events such as phonebanks, text banks, digital volunteer drives, state specific lobbying 

  • Provide volunteers with regular written updates and action plans


Education and Leadership

  • Manage the day to day operations of the Vote Mama Candidate Training Program

    • Coordinate the quarterly interview process, including reviewing candidate applications, vetting candidates, decision notices

    • Schedule and coordinate training program presenters 

    • Manage technical support of the virtual program



  • Support the political and electoral activities of Vote Mama and the Vote Mama PAC

    • Assist the Political Director and Founder/CEO in the Vote Mama PAC endorsement process, including reviewing candidate questionnaires, vetting candidates, scheduling interviews, and participating in endorsement interviews. 

    • Support the Political Director in coordinating endorsement announcements, check disbursement, and candidate support.


  • Amplify the above work on social media in order to engage Vote Mama supporters. 

    • Create and execute social media content calendar

  • Oversee digital systems for management of Vote Mama’s stakeholder groups, including but not limited to candidates, partners, event participants, and donors.
